K-8 Teachers that participate in this experience will study the rise of the making in education, and see how this movement supports the development of computational thinking (CT) skills in young learners. CT will be presented as a foundational skill, and participants will learn to recognize opportunities to apply computational thinking in their environment through hands-on computing strategies. Tim Swick is the lead teacher of Sandlapper Elementary's Computer Science Magnet program. Arlene Bakutes is Richland School District Two's Director of Grant Initiatives. Nichole Porter is a Technology Integration Specialist in Richland School District Two.
