When he is not teaching, he is running his side business (On-The-Side Ventures) through which he takes orders for custom furniture and other woodworking tasks. He is married to a kindergarten teacher at Macfeat Laboratory School (Winthrop University) in Rock Hill, SC, and father to two middle school boys.
